a quiet day in paradise at Coral Gardens Turks and Caicos, summer 2007. This beach is very popular for snorkeling due to the large area of coral reef close to the shoreline. We had the beach to ourselves, and that day, but there wasn't one fish to be seen!
Nudey Beach on Fitzroy Island
This is a shot from Fitzroy Island in northern Queensland, Australia. Though the beach is called "Nudey Beach", I don't think it is technically a nude beach. It is a very nice beach nonetheless, there is some nice fringing coral reef to snorkel around near here, saw a sea turtle and some stingrays.

Reflecting
First trip to Oregon. We logged nearly 600 miles in 72 hours trying to see beauty the state has to offer and barely scratched the surface.
But we definitely spent the most time at Cannon Beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. Nearly filled a 2Gb card just here alone.
The weather conditions could not have been better, and the sunset -- I hope I did it justice.

On Inch Beach, Kerry
This is one of the most beautiful and romantic beaches in Kerry. During the 1960s it was used as a location for the filming of The Playboy of the Western World, starring Siobhán McKenna and Gary Raymond. During the 1970s Inch beach featured in Ryan´s Daughter, starring Robert Mitchum and Sarah Miles. The beach also has a very ancient history. Among the sandhills is a raised beach containing the remains of primitive shore dwellers. Charcoal and other traces of fire are visible. There are also hammerstones and grain rubbers, and axes, bones and traces of iron smelting. In 1782 Dominic Trant wrote ´Within my memory of 25 years about 30 valuable vessels, most of them crewed by West Indians, have been totally lost on one spot - the peninsula of Inch.´ This is also a great area for bass fishing, windsurfing and canoeing and is one of Kerry´s most popular beaches for locals and visitors.
